Dr. John Gorup has been providing highly advanced and specialized surgical spine care to Lafayette, Indiana and the surrounding communities. Before co-founding the Indiana Spine Center, Dr. Gorup attended the Tulane University School of medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana, and completed his residency at the State University of New York Health Sciences Center Downstate Medical Center at Brooklyn. He was North Central Indiana's first fellowship trained, board-certified orthopaedic spine surgeon, and a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
Dr. Gorup's professional dedication, highly technical skills, and extensive clinical training has earned him many accolades, including international recognition for his work and numerous articles published in peer-reviewed journals. He is the technical advisor for the area's only spinal biomechanics lab. In addition, Dr. Gorup sits on the teaching faculty and product development teams for some of the world's largest spinal implant manufacturers.
At the Indiana Spine Center, Dr. Gorup performs minimally invasive spinal procedures, microdiscectomy, cervical fusion, and SI joint fusion. His areas of expertise include degenerative conditions and deformities of the cervical and lumbar spines.
